Morden Mordeth

Morden Mordeth was a thief from the far reaches of the north. He is from the cliched clan of grim and dark warriors known as the Mordeths. Like the rest of the unironically terse and morose Mordeths, Morden was ruthless, self-serving, and mostly unliked. He was a fiercely loyal ally. Among his few friends were the pirate Deagh, Wheede Spliffemanne, Master Boya, Bronzebeard the Average, and his raven familiar.

The Dark Sorcerer

Mordeth held a reputation for being almost impossible to hit in battle. The few enemies who evaded his wrath tell stories of the Mordeth the Black Raven who would appear as if from nowhere, deflect clouds of arrows, appear in many spots at once, and would fly above the battlefield like a dark bird of prey.

Morden Mordeth had a liking for spells such as burning hands, fireball, and lightning bolt. Mordeth once scoured a legion of bog-elfs from their royal boat with one fireball before they could fire even a single arrow at the adventurers' boat. In the same battle, he was able to counter a lightning bolt spell from Kazeckish against nearly impossible odds.

The Demonoligist

Morden's spent roughly twice the weregeld of a King's life on summoning horrible demons to do his bidding. While several conjured as servants, several were used simply to accomplish a seemingly mundane task.

Lord Jerktopus

A demonic octopus with a furry shell who was summoned to carry a diving bell through a water-filled passage. He succeeded in his task, and went home after a brief 6 minutes.

Baron Crainius

A disembodied, floating brain with slimy udders who was summoned with the sacrifice of Merona Jane. The good baron was tasked with delivering Lord Winter to hell, but had to be killed when the dominance of its free will was transferred from Morden to The Necromancer.

Barkitor Svensworth

Perhaps the most terrifying demon ever summoned by the Black Raven. Barkitor was a disheveled hound dog with a perplexing, chiming machine fused into his back. The demon-dog could dominate the minds of any it wished, and could transform stone into mud with a mere touch. Barkitor Svensworth was summoned to open a door. He returned home roughly an hour later after "hanging out" with Morden, Killgore, and Bronzebeard on the top of a vampire's tower in hell.

Rhinoxicus the Great Beetle

The maddeningly giant rhino beetle, Rhinoxicus, was summoned by Morden to help defeat the black dragon in the darkest dungeon. Morden had complete domination over the beast.

The beetle acted as Morden's hellish steed for some time, and helped to reaffirm everyone's view that Morden was a dark designs on the world. During the great bog-elf party boat massacre, Rhinoxicus heard the deafening scream of a banshee, and suffered a heart attack soon after.

Secret Admiral Abyssmalius

A sentient mass of seaweed that could move, swim, and kill.

what

Abyssmalius had the sort of vitality and lasting power normally used to describe small mountains. It was bound permanently to do Morden's bidding.

It died of a heart attack. Before you say this doesn't make sense, keep in mind that this demon made no sense at all. Its death making no sense actually kind of makes sense if you think about it enough.

Doctor Oculus

A GIANT FLOATING EYEBALL WITH A METAL STETHOSCOPE, BARBED FRONDS, AND AN INSATIABLE HUNGER FOR HUMANS THAT WAS SUMMONED IN A HEAVILY GUARDED CASTLE WITH THE INTENTION OF IT GOING OUT OF CONTROL SO MORDETH COULD ASSASSINATE THE WIDOW QUEEN WHILE EVERYONE ELSE FOUGHT THE DEMON

THIS IS WHAT BEING A WIZARD IS ABOUT, PEOPLE

SkullMurder the Hellbourne

This demon was like a dullahan, a possessed suit of armour, but instead of being made out of armour, SkullMurder was made of the anti-armour. I have no idea what that means.

He was an expert grappler, had permanent ESP, could cast illusions at will, and would devour any victims it caught. Imagine the kind of thing a 14 year old Warhammer 40k fan would draw in the margins of his math note-book, and you have an idea of what this demon was.

The grappling suit of not-armour was somehow poisoned by the bite of a great naga. SkullMurder responded by pinning the gargantuan snake to the ground, and beating it death before the poison ended its life(?).

The Lawful Thief

Despite being fundamentally lawful, he had no trouble robbing and assassinating if it filled a different contract. Some call this hypocritical, others just ignore it because who cares really?

He pludnered the cursed treasure of the 9 pirates by summoning a demonic octopus to pull a diving bell with him in it through a long flooded cave. He succeeded, and found the cursed helmet, Kervar's Bane.

One time, Morden robbed a casino in the City of the Dead.

Another time, he assassinated The Widow Queen of Trehilde Woods. He summoned a demon to distract the guards, flew above the tower, obliterated most the queens guard, then delivered a fatal flaming uppercut as the two flew through the air. He claimed her head, and flew off into the night. The rest of the party was busy escaping from a dungeon and/or dyeing their hair brown.

The Abyss

Mordeth was seemingly unkillable by any man. The closest brush with death he had was at the beak of a giant gull.

Confident, and bold, Mordeth flew down into a dark cave while hunting a great red dragon. When he returned, he choked to death and expired. Some say it was some sort of poisoning caused by the foul air at the bottom of the cave.

Others say that perhaps it was because the cave was a metaphor for the abyss that was Morden Mordeth's soul, and by gazing into it, he was afforded a brief moment of clarity. He realized that the darkness and poison inside him could not be allowed in this world any longer. The cursed helmet that made him a tyrant, the demon summonings, the sacrifices, the robberies, the assassinations — all of the things reprehensible about him became clear as day, and they had to be stopped. And so, Morden Mordeth's soul passed from the world and found peace at last while his body coughed one last time and died.

But, it could also be that he choked to death after sucking in sour gasses.
